3° edition of international prize

Arena Media Star Music Award 2020
deadline 30th june 2020
Age limit: 35 finals: 19 – 20th september 2020

Art.1 Mission of Arena Media Star Music Award.

After the success of the 1st edition at the Castello of Belgioioso in 2018 and the 2nd edition in 2019 at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan (with the Galà hosting a fundraiser for the Teatro La Fenice in Venice) the Arena Media Star Association bans a new Award in order to enhance talents as per statute, especially in classical music. The 3rd edition of the Arena Media Star Music Award adapts to the Covid emergency by launching, for 2020, a competition partially online but much more articulated in sections and categories, therefore to a large audience of young musicians who this year have fewer opportunities to emerge with live performances.
The Arena Media Star Music Award 2020 celebrates this year the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth, so in some sections the performance of songs by the great German musician will be required. The videos will be published on the website www.arenamediastar.com and shared on the main music media.
The Competition, created by the Arena Media Star Association in collaboration with Melzi Music Project, a format for musical events of the Melzi d’Eril family of Belgioso that makes available the Church of Moroni in Belgioioso, is dedicated to young musicians of all nationalities and is divided into 9 sections:

PIANO – SOLO STRINGS – SOLO WINDS – PINCH INSTRUMENTS – CHAMBER MUSIC – ANCIENT MUSIC – COMPOSITION – LIEDRIAN SINGING – OPERA SINGING.

The 2020 organizing committee that will express the juries will include, in addition to the President and a member of the Board of Directors, some prestigious names of Italian classical music.

Art.2 Accept the competition rules.
The registration of the Award implies the unconditional acceptance of all the clauses of this Regulation with the tacit authorization to disclose its name, the award obtained and the winning text in newspapers, cultural magazines, social networks and the web.
Members of the Arena Media Association and their relatives, up to the third degree of kinship and participants (competitors and guests) at the past editions of the event, are not allowed to participate in the Arena Media Star Award. At the unquestive judgment of the organizers, on the basis of any serious needs and/or due to force out, the rules and contents of this regulation could be changed for a better success of the event. These changes will be made public notice through the official website of the Association and by email to all the members of the Award, who will have to give feedback and adherence.

Art.3 Modality of Partecipation.

The PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY and must be made by 30 JUNE 2020, by filling in the form available on the web at the music competition sites and on the website www.arenamediastar.com and sending it to the address Presidente@arenamediastar.com, following a phone call from check if an answer is not received by email within 72 hours. Admitted competitors must not have exceeded the maximum age established for each category on 28 June 2020. For organizational reasons – such as use of the location, definition of the days necessary for the competition, problem of physical spacing and protections, provided for by the Government in Phase 2 – it will in no way be possible to register beyond the date of 30 June 2020.
The sections and categories of the prize will be activated and communicated to the interested participants on July 6, 2020, upon reaching a minimum of 6 participants per category. On the same date, the category Juries will be activated, integrated by other participants in addition to those already included below.

The video, which must include 2-3 seconds of silence at the beginning and at the end, can be made with a simple phone and sent in mp4 format. Videos in other formats such as Avi and Mov will also be accepted, with transmission through WeTransfer.
